About Us

What started out as homesteading has turned into a passion.

In 2008, we bought our home and started our 1st garden.  It was enough to provide us with an endless supply of zucchini so we could freeze and have fresh zucchini bread throughout the year.

Seven years later we planted our first three fruit trees and became fascinated with growing different fruits.  We developed an orchard that has nearly 70 different varieties of fruit and nut trees.

2018 was our adventure into bee keeping to help pollinate our crops and provide us a little honey for our tea and cornbread.  The next year we built a large shed with the goal of keeping chickens on one side and some storage on the other, but quickly chicken math happened and now we have around 100 chickens living their happiest lives while providing great compost to lay on our garden beds in the fall.

Early 2020, we had solar panels installed and have swapped out oil dependency for a hybrid hot water heater.  With our net zero goals, we have incorporated an electric trimmer and an electric chainsaw to do tree pruning and brush cutting.

We added pigs to our operations in 2023 to help clear and regenerate our land to expand our offerings.  They have done an amazing job at help eliminating the invasive Asiatic Bittersweet and turning up the soil.

We feel that we would like people to know who their food is coming from so they can trust us, knowing where it is coming from so they know the source and how it was produced, along with how their value added products are being made.

We believe that everyone also should have the opportunity to learn how to farm and buy fruit trees at reasonable prices all while enjoying the tastes of nature.

Our Owner and Family

Kathryn/Owner

Kathryn is passionate about her chickens!  What initially was a small flock has quickly grown over the years.

She has slowly been developing a green thumb.  A decade ago, she wasn’t able to keep house plants alive but now has many outdoor plants and an indoor fruit and herb garden.  Bees have been happily pollinating and producing sweet wildflower honey.

Katie earned her BA from UMaine in 2002, her MBA from Husson and is currently pursing a couple of  degrees, one with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in thoughts of one day of turning our farm into a inspiration for people suffering from PTSD, anxiety, and other social issues.

Rosie Cotton

Rosie is an Australian Shepard with heterochromia. She is proud that her name is from a character in The Lord of the Rings.

Rosie was hired in 2021, shortly after a pack of coyotes attacked our chicken flock.  Her job entails watching over the chickens and making sure they are safe and helping scare off scavengers and predators from the entire farm operations.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing Frisbee and catching ball with her family.  She likes going on long runs and camping.

Lucian

Lucian is our youngest farm hand. He helps weed the garden, collect fruits and veggies, tends to the chickens and pigs, and helps gather fire wood for the maple sugar operations. He is eager to learn how to operate and manage more parts of our farming operations.

David

This is David. He is usually found running our farm stand on Saturdays, helping to sell eggs and to advertise. When he isn’t running our farm stand, he is pulling weeds, feeding the animals, helping tend the bees and providing Rosie with leisure; her valued Frisbee and ball time.
